Army chief discusses military cooperation with Sierra Leone’s deputy defence minister

Amman, Nov. 17 (Petra) Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Monday received Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister of Defence, Muana Massaquoi, and his accompanying delegation at the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army General Command.
A military reception was held for the guest, who reviewed the honor guard lined up to greet him.
Maj. Gen. Huneiti, joined by a number of senior Jordanian army officers, discussed with the visiting official avenues of cooperation and joint coordination and ways to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange expertise in a manner that serves the interests of both countries’ armed forces.
"We reaffirm our constant commitment to bolstering joint military cooperation and expanding coordination in training and in the development of defensive capabilities, in line with the nature of regional and international challenges and shifts," Huneiti said in his remarks.
For his part, Sierra Leone’s deputy defence minister underscored the importance of maintaining coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces in military fields, particularly joint training and the exchange of counterterrorism expertise, expressing hope for deeper cooperation serving the two countries’ shared interests.
Both sides listened to briefings on key developments within the Jordan Armed Forces, as well as the humanitarian and relief efforts it carries out in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and its role in supporting regional security and stability. The discussions also covered areas of military cooperation and ways to advance them through joint courses and exercises.
At the conclusion of the visit, the deputy defence minister wrote an entry in the VIP guestbook.
