Amman, Sep.30 (Petra) – The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions (AQACHEI) announced on Tuesday the launch of an "ambitious" project to automate its services, in cooperation with Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.

The project aims to launch 22 full e-services through digital government channels, in accordance with the "highest" national standards.

In a statement, AQACHEI Chairman Dr. Dhafer Sarayrah said the implementation plan, which began last month and extends over eight months, features two main phases, adding that the first will complete 16 e-services by next February, while the second will offer automation of all 22 services by next April.

Sarayrah added that the project also gives 24 months for technical maintenance and support after ending implementation phase.

Sarayrah stated the system will be "fully" implemented on the government cloud with "immediate" integration with key partners, namely Civil Status & Passports Department, the Ministry of Higher Education, the eFAWATEERcom electronic payment system, and the Sanad application.

Sarayrah said integration of a digital ID to access services ensures "immediate" data verification and eliminates paper transactions "entirely." To ensure efficacy, he noted the system will "comprehensively" tested to check performance, cybersecurity, and user experience ahead of the pilot launch, indicating that staff in the relevant directorates will be trained for this purpose.

On the wider goals, he said the project primarily seeks to build "a unified system that streamlines accreditation, university degree recognition, and equivalency procedures, and provides dashboards, performance indicators, and reports to support decision-making, ensuring faster and more transparent service for beneficiary institutions." //Petra// AG
