AAU, Libyan Chargé d'Affaires explore academic cooperation

Amman, Nov. 5 (Petra) – Secretary-General at the Amman-based Association of Arab Universities (AAU), Amr Salama, and Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Jordan, Mohammed Abu Khuzam, discussed enhancing the association's cooperation with Libyan universities, mainly developing joint academic and research partnerships.
Salama reaffirmed the AAU's commitment to supporting Libyan universities and improving their academic and research capacities.
Salama highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen accreditation, quality assurance, and digital transformation in line with higher education modernization requirements.
Praising Libya’s role in advancing Arab higher education, Salama emphasized the association’s intent to expand "constructive" cooperation with Libyan universities.
Abu Khuzam, in turn, expressed appreciation for the AAU's "long-standing" role in serving Arab higher education, pledging support for its initiatives.
The diplomat noted Libya is looking forward to hosting delegations from Arab universities next January, on the occasion of the AAU's meeting in Tripoli, which is expected to strengthen Arab communication and integration in education and scientific research areas.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the third edition of the Arab University Ranking, its role in enhancing "competitiveness and institutional performance," highlighting the importance of technical and vocational education in developing young talent to meet labor market needs.
