Public-Private Meeting Discusses Strengthening One-Stop Investment Service

Amman, Dec. 23 (Petra)- The Ministry of Investment on Tuesday hosted a meeting bringing together a number of ministers, officials from government institutions, and private-sector representatives involved in the comprehensive investment service, with the aim of developing it and strengthening the authorities of its delegated officials at the Ministry of Investment in order to facilitate procedures and improve the investor journey.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of interior, Mazen Farraya; labor, Khaled Bakkar; health, Ibrahim Al Bdour; agriculture, Saeb Khraisat; tourism and antiquities, Imad Hijazin; environment, Ayman Suleiman; and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment, Zaher Qatarneh.
Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh stressed during the meeting the importance of developing the comprehensive investment service at the Ministry of Investment as a priority to simplify procedures and save time, effort, and costs for investors and applicants. He pointed to the importance of enhancing institutional coordination and raising the level of authorities granted to delegates of the relevant ministries and institutions at the Ministry of Investment in a manner that positively reflects on the speed of completing transactions within the applicable regulatory frameworks.
The ministers and attendees also discussed opportunities to improve the working mechanisms of the delegates and to organize the authorities granted to them within a system of procedures and joint government work, under instructions to be issued to this effect, within a clear institutional framework that serves the investor journey.
The meeting comes within the context of ongoing government efforts to strengthen partnership and coordination among various institutions, benefiting from feedback and continuous periodic evaluation of services provided to citizens and residents in order to ensure their advancement in line with the best and optimal standards.
The meeting was also attended by officials and directors of the institutions represented in the unified investment service, including Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Rana Obaidat; Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department Hossam Abu Ali; General Controller of Companies Wael Al-Armouti; Director of the Civil Defense Directorate Brigadier Nasser Al-Sweilmien; President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and Amman Chamber of Commerce Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq; and President of the Jordan Chamber of Industry and Amman Chamber of Industry Fathi Al-Jaghbir.
