Amman, Sept. 19 (Petra)-- On Thursday evening, the President of the Jordan Press Association , Tariq Al-Momani, discussed with the Secretary-General of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Anthony Bellanger, and the Director of Policies and Programs for the Arab World and the Middle East at the IFJ, Mounir Zaarour, ways to enhance cooperation on various issues of concern to journalists and develop media work.

Al-Momani discussed the JPA's role in protecting its members' rights and advancing the journalistic workplace in front of a number of JPA Council members.

He emphasized the value of collaboration with the International Federation in promoting media freedoms and offering Jordanian journalists training and certification programs that stay up to date with international advancements.

The Secretary-General of the Federation, for his part, commended Jordanian journalists' professionalism and the Journalists Syndicate's constructive contribution to upholding media freedoms and advancing professional standards.

He reaffirmed the Federation's willingness to offer technical assistance and knowledge, as well as to put in place specific training initiatives that help journalists advance their abilities and competencies in digital media and other journalistic domains.

The Director of Policies and Programs for the Federation emphasized the value of funding journalistic cadre training, pointing out that the Federation gives special attention to enhancing journalists' abilities.

He underlined that the Federation and the JPA will collaborate to introduce specialized training programs, with a focus on digital journalism, artificial intelligence, and technological tools that are influencing innovation and the profession's future.

In addition to working on implementing cooperative projects aimed at improving professional performance and the role of the media in all areas of interest, the two parties agreed to continue cooperation and expertise sharing.
