Amman, Nov. 20 (Petra)-- Laith Al-Momani Student participants in the Advancement, Innovation, and Technology in Cybersecurity Conference (C8), which opened last Tuesday at the Dead Sea, affirmed that the event provided a national platform to enhance their skills and present their entrepreneurial projects to experts and specialized institutions.
They emphasized that the experience contributed to developing their capabilities and linking them directly to labor-market needs.
Al-Balqa Applied University had a strong presence at the conference, where student Abdulrahman Al-Adwani presented his project "Blue Clue: Digital Forensics Environment." The platform combines theoretical and practical components of digital investigations.
Al-Adwani explained that the project aims to "provide a training environment that simulates real-world cybercrime scenarios, enabling students to analyze evidence, prepare reports, and compare their findings with evaluations from specialized experts." He added that the platform helps bridge the gap between academic education and hands-on practice in the cybersecurity field.
He noted that "feedback from attendees and experts offered valuable developmental insights, making the conference a genuine space for turning student ideas into applicable solutions." Student Awn Al-Samadi also presented his project "Stifux2," a portable training system designed to simulate Wi-Fi network threats in safe, controlled environments.
"The project provides an educational tool that allows trainees to test their ability to detect and contain attacks without putting any real systems at risk," Al-Samadi said. "It also helps prepare security teams for red- and blue-team exercises within safe and ethical standards." He added that the student showcase platform enabled direct interaction with specialists from government institutions and private-sector companies, helping participants gain a clearer understanding of market demands.
For his part, Mohammad Obeidat from Jordan University of Science and Technology stated that participating in the conference "offered exposure to pioneering projects from universities and startups, while specialized workshops on risk analysis and incident management added hands-on experience equivalent to on-site training." JUST participated through its Center of Excellence for Creative Projects, presenting several advanced initiatives. Professor Wafa Ta’an, the center’s deputy director, said the university’s involvement aimed to "highlight its scientific research efforts, enable students to showcase projects that address market needs, and enhance their professional experience and communication with relevant entities." The conference, which brought together universities, startups, and national institutions, comes as part of broader efforts to support innovation, strengthen Jordan’s digital readiness, and provide an environment that empowers youth to develop creative solutions that protect digital infrastructure and build national capacity in an era of rapid cybersecurity advancements.
