Amman, Nov. 20 (Petra) – The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj) launched the first Jordanian pavilion at the "HiTech" the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Exhibition in Damascus, featuring 14 Jordanian companies from Nov. 20–24.
In a statement, Intaj said Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Samirat inaugurated the pavilion on Thursday, in the presence of Syrian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdul salam Haykal, Intaj Chairman Fadi Qutaishat, President of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce Khalil ElHaj Tawfiq, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Syria Sufian Qudah, alongside representatives of sector companies.
The statement said this first-of-its-kind pavilion in the Syrian market aims to highlight Jordanian expertise in the ICT sector and open new cooperation channels with Syrian companies, supporting economic and technological integration between the two countries.
The pavilion is also linked to the Jordanian-Syrian ICT Forum as part of a broader program to strengthen regional cooperation in the digital sector.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Intaj CEO Nidal Bitar said the Jordanian pavilion at "HiTech" represents an "important" step in boosting the presence of Jordanian companies in the Syrian market and provides a direct platform for engagement with Syrian ICT institutions.
Bitar noted the participating companies are presenting "advanced" technological solutions across multiple fields, which reflect "strong" regional confidence in Jordanian capabilities.
Bitar added that Intaj continues to work on opening "new" markets for sector companies and supporting their regional expansion, particularly amid rising demand for digital solutions in Syria during its economic recovery phase.
Bitar said the pavilion opens a "fresh" window for cooperation, enhances opportunities for joint investment, and lays the foundation for deeper Arab technological integration based on partnership and innovation.
