Amman, December 14 (Petra) – Jordan Customs Department (JCD) spokesperson Col. Amjad Khaldi said customs personnel seized 25,000 narcotic pills, 50 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 1 palm-sized sheet of hashish, and 1 packet of Captagon pills.
Confiscated in a crackdown at the Syrian-Jordanian Joint Free Zone Customs Center, in cooperation with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), Khaldi added that these seized items were handed over to the AND adminstration to take further legal action.
On its policy, he underlined the JCD's "commitment" to combating all smuggling operations, working jointly with Jordan's security and regulatory agencies to protect public health and safety.
Khaldi also urged the public to report any violations or smuggling activities to the toll-free number 105 at the Anti-Smuggling Operations Center.
