Irbid, Dec. 24 (Petra) -- Heads of Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI), Hani Abu Hassan, and Syria's Daraa Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Nashat Rifai, on Wddnesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance joint industrial, commercial, and investment cooperation.

The memo aims to stimulate collaboration among business people and both chambers' members, exchange information on economic events, industrial and investment sectors, and commercial legislation.

The two sides will also cooperate in organizing economic forums, exchange visits, and develop networking opportunities to showcase available investment and trade opportunities in both countries.

Talking at the signing ceremony, Abu Hassan said the memo represents an "important" step to expand industrial and commercial cooperation and open "broader" avenues for the two countries' business peopel, contribute to economic activity and enhance competitiveness of national products.

He also noted the chamber will continue its efforts to strengthen regional partnerships to serve the industrial sector and the national economy.

Rifai, in turn, said the agreement is a "practical" measure to activate economic relations, open new prospects for industrial and economic exchange, and build genuine partnerships among businesspeople, support both economies and promote shared growth opportunities.

Additionally, the two sides agreed to monitor the MoU implementation through continuous communication channels and form joint working groups to study available opportunities, which would achieve the memo’s goals and enhance mutual cooperation.
