Amman, Sept 15 (Petra) – Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Ahmed Safadi, said His Majesty King Abdullah II’s address at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Qatar marked a pivotal moment in redirecting Arab joint action toward effective deterrence and confronting escalating Israeli threats that now extend beyond Palestine to threaten regional stability.
In a statement issued Monday, Safadi noted that the King’s precise and direct words outlined a strategic vision based on the principle that Arab security is indivisible and that any attack on an Arab state, such as Israel’s threats to Qatar’s security, constitutes a direct assault on the entire Arab system.
The statement added that Jordan’s stance underscores its deep commitment to the Arab cause and reaffirms its position at the forefront of the Arab world in defending justice and stability.
Safadi highlighted that the King’s call to move from condemnation to action makes coordinated Arab measures a strategic necessity and emphasized that the Arab response should be "clear, decisive, and deterrent," forming a basis for collective action that admits no delay or hesitation.
The statement also warned that the continued aggressive policies of the occupying state, amid international silence, necessitate a review of Arab and Islamic mechanisms and urged the formation of a unified stance with implementable decisions capable of safeguarding Arab national security and countering Israeli arrogance.
Safadi concluded by calling for Arab unity in facing Israeli threats and for crafting a collective political position commensurate with the challenges, preserving the dignity, sovereignty, and cohesion of the Arab nation.
