Amman, Sep. 28 (Petra) –Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) concluded a training course, themed: "Principles of Environmental Communication and Marketing," held under the SOWAS project.

The event was held in cooperation with the German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ), with support from the German government and the European Union.

According to a GAM statement released on Sunday, the course aimed to promote "innovative" approaches to environmental behavior change to shift from traditional awareness campaigns to scientific evidence-based strategies.

Director of the Environmental Studies Department, Basem Hawamdeh, said the course is a step to enhance GAM staff capacities and integrate innovative methods in recycling and waste sorting projects.

Hawamdeh noted the initiative reflects GAM’s "commitment" to innovation in waste management and service improvements, with the support of partners to ensure sustainability and optimize environmental and economic impact.

Meanwhile, GAM-affiliated King Abdullah II Sports City, organized a fun day at Ammar bin Yasser Park, in cooperation with the "Let's Cooperate for Good" initiative.

The initiative brought together more than 160 children and featured entertainment activities, cartoon shows, a magician’s performance, and gift distribution.

The City's Director, Rula Maaytah, said GAM is "committed" to holding such events to serve the community and provide safe spaces for children.

Head of GAM Activities and Public Service Department, Firas Daboubi, noted activities seek to strengthen social cohesion and activate the community role of GAM’s parks and centers.
