Amman, Dec. 24 (Petra) – Tkiyet Um Ali signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Education to support and implement a school feeding program aimed at providing a daily nutritious meal to underprivileged students in public schools, contributing to improved health outcomes and enhanced learning capacity.

In a statement issued Wednesday, Tkiyet Um Ali said the agreement coincides with the launch of the program’s first phase, which targets schools in Balqa, Jerash, and Karak governorates. Under the initiative, students receive a daily meal consisting of 100 percent natural date bars, free of added sugar and preservatives, and rich in fiber and natural energy to support concentration during the school day.

The program directly benefits about 4,000 students through on-site meal distribution in schools, in addition to nearly 20,000 students supported through monthly food parcels. This integrated approach aims to expand the program’s reach and strengthen food security among school-age children.

Tkiyet Um Ali explained that the date bars are produced by beneficiaries of Dar Abu Abdullah’s economic empowerment programs, using locally sourced natural ingredients. This model links school nutrition with sustainable economic empowerment, reinforcing the social and developmental impact of the initiative.

Both sides underscored the importance of institutional cooperation in creating a healthy educational environment and achieving sustainable outcomes. They noted that subsequent phases of the program will expand to additional governorates, in line with national efforts to enhance food security and support the education sector.
