Amman, Dec. 31 (Petra) – Chief Commissioner of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission Deifallah Farajat on Wednesday met with Chairperson of the Yemeni Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority Saleh bin Nahid to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the air transport sector.

During the meeting, held at the Commission’s headquarters, Farajat and bin Nahid reviewed prospects for developing relations in civil aviation and explored mechanisms for joint coordination in areas serving mutual interests.

They underscored the depth of historical relations between the two authorities and stressed the importance of overcoming any obstacles to ensure the continuity and smooth operation of air traffic between the two countries.

The meeting also reviewed the status of air services operating under the Air Services Agreement signed between Jordan and Yemen in 1975, noting its liberal framework, which allows for a high degree of operational flexibility and has contributed over the years to strengthening social and economic ties between the two peoples.

Farajat highlighted the role of Yemen Airways in maintaining air connectivity, noting that the carrier currently operates regular flights between Aden and Amman at a frequency of four flights per week. He affirmed the Commission’s support for further developing the service to meet growing passenger demand.

For his part, bin Nahid expressed appreciation for the technical support and facilities provided by the Jordanian side, affirming Yemen’s interest in expanding cooperation in training, aviation safety, and the exchange of regulatory expertise.
