Jordan, Singapore Sign MoU to Boost Cooperation in Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation

Amman, Nov. 14 (Petra)-- Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Smeirat, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) with Singapore-based ST Engineering.
According to a ministry statement issued on Friday, the MoU aims to strengthen cooperation between Jordan and Singapore in the fields of cybersecurity, digital transformation, and cloud computing technologies.
The partnership aligns with the Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship Strategy 2023–2028 and the Economic Modernization Vision, which seeks to build an advanced and secure digital economy.
Under the agreement, both sides will collaborate on the design, development, and implementation of advanced digital and cybersecurity solutions. This includes developing cybersecurity products, establishing and operating a cybersecurity operations center, implementing training and capacity-building programs, developing cloud solutions and sector-specific operations centers, and deploying advanced and emerging digital technologies.
During the signing ceremony, both parties underscored the importance of strengthening future cooperation to reinforce Jordan’s leadership role in the region in digital innovation and cybersecurity.
Smeirat said the partnership reflects Jordan’s commitment to expanding international cooperation in cybersecurity and advanced digital technologies.
He noted that the agreement aligns with the national vision to position Jordan as a trusted regional hub for secure digital innovation and sustainable technological growth.
The MoU will remain in effect for 24 months from the date of signing, with the possibility of automatic renewal, underscoring the two countries’ shared commitment to enhancing digital resilience and driving innovation-led economic growth.
