Amman, Sept. 12 (Petra)-- "Developing a Curriculum on Green Hydrogen Technologies and Applications," the first stage of the Green Hydrogen Project's implementation, has started. In collaboration with their Arab and foreign counterparts, a consortium of Jordanian universities is carrying out the initiative.
Through the use of adaptive learning and teaching techniques, the project, which is funded by the European Union, aims to improve collaboration between businesses and universities by creating courses on cutting-edge green hydrogen technologies that take into consideration the possible effects of climate change.
Green hydrogen is one of the key elements of a future free from global warming and a climate-neutral energy carrier, according to Professor Ahmad Al-Salaymeh, the project director in Jordan, who spoke to the Jordan News Agency (Petra). In order to boost the use of renewable energy sources and improve environmental protection, he continued, this project focuses on a group of southern Mediterranean nations that require professional programs centered on green hydrogen and its applications in the industrial and transportation sectors.
In order to educate the younger generation about this important topic, its economic and environmental benefits, and its impact on their future, Al-Salaymeh stressed that green hydrogen, which is currently regarded as one of the best energy sources due to its low cost and lack of pollutants, represents a real opportunity to take advantage of it and incorporate it into curricula and educational programs.
He clarified that the project, which is being carried out in collaboration with the University of Jordan and Al-Hussein Technical University as well as universities from Germany, Austria, Cyprus, Algeria, and Egypt, intends to bridge the theory and practice of green hydrogen technology by providing new and updated courses in the field in higher education institutions in accordance with contemporary European strategies.
The project, according to Al-Salaymeh, supports Jordan's plans to transition to renewable energy by utilizing its location in the global solar belt, forming regional and international alliances, and depending on Jordanian researchers and experts to support solar and wind energy projects, store energy, and develop smart infrastructure.
