Amman, Dec. 10 (Petra) The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) said it has issued a circular prohibiting the entry of intravenous (+NAD) products for personal use, under legal liability, due to the absence of scientifically proven medical need for such preparations and to prevent the misuse of personal-import mechanisms for commercial purposes.
The JFDA urged citizens to report any observations or complaints related to illegal practices in the cosmetics sector, following the seizure of three violating beauty centers that had been administering the intravenous (+NAD) product despite it not being registered in the Kingdom. It said the product was found to have entered through personal import.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the JFDA said permission to allow non-registered medicines into the country for personal use is strictly limited to patients identified by name and under clear conditions, including a medical prescription, a medical report, and quantities defined by the administration not exceeding the patient’s need for three months, and under the joint responsibility of both the treating physician and the patient.
