He told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that His Majesty King Abdullah II’s visit to Indonesia represents an important opportunity to enhance and broaden the strategic partnership, ensuring the continued growth of cooperation between the two friendly nations.
He noted that the two leaders are expected to witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and reviewing progress in several ongoing areas of cooperation.

He pointed to Indonesia’s participation in events such as the Jerash Festival and cultural performances at Jara Market, stressing that this engagement will continue and contribute to stronger people-to-people connections and richer bilateral relations in the years ahead.
Regarding Jordan’s role in advancing peace and stability in the region, Sarono emphasized that Indonesia highly recognizes and appreciates the significant and ongoing efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting Middle East stability.
He noted that Jordan, under His Majesty’s leadership, has consistently contributed to diplomatic initiatives and supported efforts aimed at addressing regional challenges.
On the Palestinian cause and the war in Gaza, the ambassador stated that Indonesia fully supports Jordan’s position, as both countries strongly advocate for the implementation of the two-state solution. He said Jordan and Indonesia maintain close partnership through continuous consultation and coordination on developments in Gaza.
He added that the two countries have engaged in joint discussions during major international events, including the International Conference on the Two-State Solution in New York, and participated in high-level meetings involving leaders from Islamic and Arab countries on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Their shared commitment, he said, was reaffirmed during the recent Gaza Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, where both sides renewed support for efforts to end the war.
Sarono also praised Jordan’s humanitarian role in hosting Syrian refugees, saying this reflects the Kingdom’s steadfast commitment to humanitarian values and contributes to alleviating refugees’ suffering and supporting regional stability. He stressed the importance of international solidarity in addressing humanitarian crises.
The ambassador also reaffirmed Indonesia’s strong support for Jordan’s central role in facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
