Amman, Sep. 8 (Petra) – The foreign ministers of a ministerial committee mandated by the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit on the Gaza Strip on Monday categorically rejected Israeli statements regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land occupied since 1967, under any pretext or designation.

In a joint statement, the ministers condemned Israeli policies and practices aimed at uprooting the Palestinian people through expanding military operations in Gaza, imposing blockade and starvation as tools of war, targeting civilians and infrastructure, and seeking to prolong and expand the conflict in a manner that threatens regional and international peace and security. They also reiterated their condemnation of illegal Israeli measures in the West Bank, including settlement expansion, settler violence, home demolitions, and land seizures.

The ministers underscored the need for an immediate end to Israel’s grave violations of international humanitarian law and demanded accountability for all those responsible for practices that may amount to crimes of ethnic cleansing and genocide.

They called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the lifting of all Israeli restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid through all crossings. They further stressed the importance of providing international support to enable the Palestinian National Authority to return to the Strip and to advance the Palestinian people’s efforts to establish their independent state.

The ministers emphasized that Israel’s actions constitute a serious violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, urging the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to assume its responsibilities in protecting the Palestinian people, ensuring their right to remain on their land in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and working to end the illegal Israeli occupation.

They reaffirmed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967, lines with East Jerusalem as its capital is the only path to a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause, consistent with the right to self-determination, human rights principles, and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
