Amman, Dec. 10 (Petra) -- The Airport International Group hosted a media gathering on Wednesday welcoming longstanding media partners for a comprehensive overview of Queen Alia International Airport’s (QAIA) 2025 achievements, economic impact and future development plans.

The event underscored the QAIA’s continued evolution as Jordan’s prime gateway to the world, driven by the global operational expertise, investment commitment and long-term vision of Airport International Group.

Since taking over management in 2007, Airport International Group has worked closely with its grantor, the Government of Jordan, to deliver one of the region’s most successful Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). Last year’s extension of the concession agreement to 2039 further reinforced the strength of this partnership, enabling Airport International Group to continue investing in infrastructure, services and sustainability, ensuring the QAIA remains the Kingdom’s leading gateway for decades to come.

During the gathering, Airport International Group CEO, Nicolas Deviller, CFO Hani Ghanim and Zahia Nasan, Communications Director highlighted the QAIA’s strong performance throughout 2025. They showcased operational improvements, service innovations and new commercial offerings; the expansion of airline and destination networks despite regional challenges; steady traffic recovery and growth; and major sustainability milestones, including the inauguration of the Solar Farm and renewal of the airport’s Level 4+ Airport Carbon Accreditation.

A central focus of the briefing was the QAIA’s Enhancement Plan, one of the airport’s most ambitious development programs for the period of 2026-2029. Designed to raise capacity from 12 million to 18 million passengers annually, the plan encompasses 15 major projects aimed at enhancing the entire passenger journey - offering greater comfort, efficiency and smart technologies to prepare the QAIA for the demands of future travelers.

The presentation also emphasized the QAIA’s growing economic footprint. Since 2007, Airport International Group has paid JOD 2.1 billion to the Government of Jordan including JOD 1.3 billion in concession fees. In 2024 alone, the Airport International Group contributed JOD 121 million in concession fees, despite regional unrest and a 4% passenger traffic drop. The QAIA continues to support thousands of direct and indirect jobs, with new employment opportunities expected as expansion projects move forward. The discussion also emphasized the impact of Airport International Group Foundation’s community initiatives, as well as a series of global awards that recognize the QAIA’s excellence in passenger satisfaction, customer experience, environment and technology.

Deviller said: "As we reflect on the QAIA’s journey, we do so with immense pride, not only in what we have accomplished, but in what lies ahead. Our partnership with the Government of Jordan remains the backbone of our success, and the trust placed in Airport International Group inspires us to push boundaries across every facet of our airport operations. This past year, we strengthened the QAIA’s role as Jordan’s global gateway through better service, deeper partnerships, smarter infrastructure and meaningful investment." "With the Enhancement Plan well underway, we are preparing to deliver an airport experience unlike anything Jordan has seen, shaped by our commitment to offering passengers a smoother, smarter, more welcoming environment that feels like home. I extend my sincere thanks to our media partners, government counterparts, industry stakeholders and dedicated teams for making the achievements of today and tomorrow possible," he added.
